Frederik was born and grew up in Nürnberg (Germany). He moved to Glasgow in 2012 and obtained his MChem from the University of Glasgow in 2017. During his undergraduate final year project, Fred worked on novel antisense backbone linkage in the research group of Prof. Rob Liskamp. Fred joined the Burley group and the University of Strathclyde in 2017 for his PhD studies on ynamines for bioconjugation. Since 2021, Fred has become a postdoc in the Burley group.
